On 26 October, LEGO transformed the historic Battersea Power Station into a vibrant showcase as part of its Play Is Your Superpowercampaign. The power station’s towering chimneys served as a canvas for a spectacular 3D projection that animated LEGO Minifigures against the London skyline. Attendees enjoyed a playful display of robotic arms assembling the Minifigures, highlighting LEGO’s signature imagination and innovation.
Running from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., the event attracted families, LEGO enthusiasts, and curious passers-by. The iconic structure came alive with a riot of colours and animated characters, celebrating the endless possibilities of play. This large-scale projection marked the first of its kind for Battersea Power Station and reinforced LEGO’s mission to inspire creativity in both children and adults. Attendees could also participate in LEGO-themed activities and pop-up experiences nearby.
The projection utilised advanced 3D mapping and specialised software to create dynamic visuals that aligned with the power station’s architecture. Precise modelling and animation ensured synchronisation with the building’s contours.
Recently revitalised, Battersea Power Station provided an ideal backdrop for LEGO’s celebration, adding a magical touch to London’s festive season. The launch of the Play Is Your Superpower campaign encouraged creativity as a “superpower” for all, leaving visitors with an unforgettable experience and a reminder of LEGO’s enduring appeal across generations.
